Job Description
To manufacture, service, and repair hydraulic and mechanical equipment both on-site and in the workshop as required. This includes diagnostics, technical assessments, component manufacturing and testing, and ensuring all work aligns with technical specifications and safety standards.
+ Inspect and diagnose issues with hydraulic systems and components
+ Perform regular maintenance on hydraulic systems to prevent breakdowns
+ Repair or replace defective hydraulic parts
+ Assemble and install hydraulic systems on machinery and equipment
+ Test the performance of hydraulic systems and make necessary adjustments
+ Maintain detailed records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs
+ Use hand tools and specialized hydraulic testing equipment
+ Adhere to safety regulations and procedures
+ Provide consultation and advice on maintenance and preventative measures
+ Coordinate with other team members to complete projects and tasks

Key Result Areas (KRAs)
1. Hydraulic Technical Capability
+ Analyse, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic and mechanical components within systems that utilise ‘major’ brand hydraulic components
+ Manufacture parts, assemble, repair, and test hydraulic and mechanical equipment
+ Inspect and diagnose faults within hydraulic and mechanical systems—with or without schematics
+ Read and interpret engineering and hydraulic diagrams, including Open Loop, PTO-powered circuits, Closed Loop, Logic Valve, Servo, Proportional, and Regenerative circuits
+ Apply sound technical knowledge of major brand hydraulic components in repair and servicing tasks
Safely operate and maintain accumulators
+ Utilise test benches, fluid transfer and filtration equipment, purification and flushing systems—including the main hydraulic test rig—and provide guidance to others on their correct use
+ Select and install hydraulic hoses, pipes, and tubing with consideration for material, size, compatibility, flow capacity, fit-for-purpose, and cost
+ Conduct fluid testing, interpret results, and report findings as required
2. Job Management
+ Scope technical information to support accurate quoting by the Sales and Technical Solutions teams
+ Understand and communicate job specifications clearly—including technical drawings, critical tolerances, customer requirements, and end use—to ensure successful job execution
+ Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure practical work aligns with the original technical design and specifications
+ 2+ years of verifiable experience as a hydraulic technician.
+ Able to communicate (write and speak) in English.
+ Must pass a skills assessment (practical testing will be conducted).
